This is a little thing I whipped out this morning. I'm going to keep working on this series until I find something really good in it.

I swear I haven't been lazy, everybody. I just haven't been taking many pictures of my work. I've been doing doing a lot of stuff and keep this in mind because I'll be posting more things soon.
I made the basic structure of this out of one sheet of birch plywood and covered that with a piece of bendable plywood. It's about four feet wide and four feet long and the biggest hump is about 16 inches high. The exterior covering is made out of vinyl and some material I found on sale called "cuddle fur".
Okay so here we have the model for the latest sculpture I've been working on. This is a scale model for what will be a sculpture perched at the top of a ten foot black metal pole, so imagine this about ten to thirteen feet high and about six feet at the widest points. I'm collaborating with Josiah Blevins on this one and today we finally made some headway. The original inspiration for these jagged modules comes from a microscopic image of shark skin that I found. From there we became more concerned with the energy these pieces create and activating the surrounding space. The final product will be made out of ten gauge steel plate. We may try to experiment with some ropes, twines, or fibers but for now this is what we have figured out.
These photos serve as a rather vague image of the work I've been doing this summer. I've haven't done too much. Just working on some small paintings and collages. But either way, finally I've posted some of it. Hopefully there will be better quality images up soon.
These are some self portraits I drew in my moleskin recently. I think a self portrait is like connecting all the dots that you've collected throughout your day.
